MDSL's TEM User Group and Showcase, Paris

Nov 16, 2017

On Tuesday, MDSL hosted its Technology Expense Management User Group at the Hilton Paris Opera. The event brought together clients to network, see the latest developments on the MDSL platform, and influence the product roadmap for 2018. It also provided an opportunity for those considering a partnership with MDSL to get hands on with our solutions and hear from our customers how they are using TEM to achieve efficiency, compliance and visibility over their global technology spend.

CEO Charles Layne kicked off the event with an update on the TEM industry, and reasserted MDSL’s innovative and customer-centric approach to become the global market leader. VP of Engineering Giulio D’Ali then presented the product roadmap for 2018, and highlighted new developments on MDSL's platform this year, including the Vendor Quote Engine, Integrations and performance improvements.

Chairman Ben Mendoza gave a keynote on how combining automation with qualitative human analysis can improve processes and services. He also highlighted some technology trends we are likely to see in the near future.

A showcase ran throughout the day, with MDSL’s technical staff manning five pods to discuss a range of topics and help clients get the most out of TEM:

  • Procurement and Integrations
  • Best Practice and Implementation
  • Business Process Automation
  • Cost Savings
  • Business Intelligence

Mark Bellingham, MDSL’s Professional Services Director, talked through some of the new services the expanded MDSL will now be able to deliver to customers, including offerings around lifecycle management, strategic sourcing and enhanced auditing & optimisation. This was followed by a demonstration of MDSL's self-service reporting by Ed Godshaw, MDSL's VP of Research and Development.

The day finished with a roundtable discussion on how to maximise the value of MDSL's solutions and overcome specific challenges. There were some particularly interesting conversations around compliance, global implementation, and using TEM to manage multiple categories of technology.

Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their experiences and feedback.

MDSL hold annual TEM User Groups in the U.S. and EMEA, with the next conference taking place in Arizona in Spring 2018.
