Market Data Management User Group & Showcase - New York

Mar 31, 2017

This Tuesday, MDSL hosted its 2017 Market Data Management (MDM) User Group and Showcase at the Scandinavia House on Park Avenue in New York.  27 clients representing 16 financial firms joined our morning session and were welcomed by CEO Ben Mendoza, who kicked off the event with opening remarks and unveiled our product roadmap taking us through 2017 and beyond.

This was followed by a series of short presentations, delivered by our senior developers and subject-matter experts, and highlighted new feature-rich functionality delivered in recent releases of the MDM product suite.  Ed Godshaw, Head of BI Development and Integration, walked us through the benefits and simplicity of our new HTML5 reporting platform. ILM Product Manager Steve Ellenberg presented our new algorithmic library of license fee schemes, as well as the ability to create blended benchmarks which can be embedded in the index catalog. Other product enhancements such as Automated Invoice Processing Phase II, our new Application Compliance Manager, Transaction Reconcilliation Reporting and our Advanced Bloomberg management tools were also presented. IMG_2468.jpg

In the Q&A session which followed, clients shared their own experiences, identified opportunities for future development and conferred with colleagues on process and best practices. One topic of particular concern to all was how MDM might help automate the contract renewal process. Brad Firminger, Head of Customer Relations, spoke of how the Self-Certification tool could fill this gap and aid in the renewal process.

It was standing room only for our afternoon Open House which began with a light lunch and an interesting presentation on the Industry Effects of Oil Markets by Morgan Downey, CEO of Money.net.  The response to Morgan’s presentation was enthusiastic, as he fielded a number of questions from the audience. Our product showcase followed Morgan and gave clients and non-clients alike the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine, network with colleagues, meet with our developers and subject-matter experts and see live demonstrations of our products. IMG_2562.jpg
